Looking for vacation care on the Gold Coast for your school-aged kids?
When you’re managing work commitments or running a business during school holiday time, life can be a juggle. Vacation Care is a service offered by various Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) providers at local schools for parents and carers during the school holidays.
Many Gold Coast schools have a vacation care program running from Monday to Friday each day of the school holidays (except public holidays) with the option to attend any number of days.
Typical vacation care activities may include:
- Excursions
- Outdoor experiences
- Games
- Arts and crafts
- Sports
- Incursions and workshops
- Themed days
YMCA Childcare

PCYC Queensland
PCYC offer vacation care services across various locations including Upper Coomera, Ashmore, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Palm Beach. During the school holidays a range of activities are on offer including excursions, incursions and themed days to promote sports, health and wellbeing and community connections. Team Kids
Team Kids have a vacation care program operating at Nerang State School each school holidays. Similar to other providers, there’s a range of activities held in-house, in addition to incursions and excursions. You can view a sample holiday program here. What to pack for a day at Vacation Care:
- A nutritious lunch and snacks (if not provided)
- Refillable drink bottle
- A sun smart hat
- Enclosed shoes
- Any required medications and medication action plan (hand directly to the care team on arrival)
- Check food policies e.g. No nuts
Vacation Care costs
- Costs vary by provider, check with your provider for details
- Vacation care programs are typically approved providers for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
